The Emthonjeni Community Centre School Shoe Project.

The Emthonjeni Community Centre is situated in Zandspruit, an informal settlement in Honeydew. Zandspruit is densely populated with approximately 45,000 inhabitants and basic road and housing construction is still on-going. Zandspruit is one of the oldest least developed and fastest growing informal settlements in Johannesburg.

The Emthonjeni Community Centres started in 2002 through international and local partnerships, is a four hectare fenced homestead housing a beautiful thatch-roof dwelling, work buildings for projects, a children playground, well established gardens, tennis courts, sports field and additional space for future development.

Quoting the Team who carried out this project: “we went to Emthonjeni Community Centre and we had a glorious time in the presence of the Lord and reached out with our Messenger Angel the Rhapsody of Realities. Over 200 people were in attendance as well as the children who joined to support those that were receiving shoes. The place was well decorated. One of our top Rhapsody of Realities partners, Brother Lawrence opened the program with prayers and there was a speech by Deaconess Kgomotso the representative of the Reach Out Chairman.”

School shoes were handed out to the Children and they were very excited. A coordinator in the group Brother Dumisani shared a message from the Rhapsody and the children and parents were led to Christ.

Deaconess Kgomotso prayed for the children, parents and community; and interviews were conducted with two of the community leaders. The children were also very excited and ecstatic. The Reach Out South Africa Chairman during her tour to the multiple community project centres also stopped by the Emthonjeni Community Centre expressing her joy about the event.

2,000 audio and hard copies of Rhapsody of Realities were distributed in the area surrounding the community centre and hundreds were led to Christ. More shoes were handed over to the principal of the Masakhane-Tswelelopele Primary School in Zandspruit – Honeydew on Saturday 4 October. Rhapsody of Realities was again introduced to over 150 parents and children and they were led to Christ by the leader of the “school shoes” community project team Bro. Christian Rinaipfi.

The team also reached out to surrounding streets, distributing over 1350 Rhapsody of Realities and winning hundreds of souls.
